We’ve known for a while now that pine or the Scandinavian look is hot. And new on the market from Norwegian company Moelven, a new series called ‘Fabelaktig’ in pine wood for the interior. I’m just loving the wood wall paneling, it’s something we see more and more of these days giving any room instant coziness. These floors in the ‘taktløs’ serie are pretty cheeky as well. I would say for those looking for some individualism in the home. Everyone can relate to wood in the home. It gives life and it gives warmth, whatever the type of wood, in any home there’s nothing like barefooting round the home on a wooden floor.

The sunshine is suddenly shining through my window here, must be a good sign for a sunny weekend:-) Happy weekend everyone.

Sometimes we need a little spicing up in our every day so why not mix it up a little. For those of us on a budget it’s an easy way of sprucing up the living room. A blend of different patterns can make a huge effect simply by just adding pleads, cushions, curtains or rugs on the floor to the living area. Here’s som inspiration…

Today I just have to share with you Abigail Ahern from London. She has such an amazing talent with interiors; her style is very unique, very daring and very unexpected! She lives for dark, fun and sensual interiors, and has made it her vendetta to convert the rest of the world to it too. Mixing unusual textures together with laughable objects and lamps just brings out the humour in any person and space. Well I’d say there’s nothing like living on the wild side, you either love it or hate the style, but that’s just the reason why I think shes’s hot! These pictures taken in her London home come from the fantastic blog called The Selby who has the most amazing flair of capturing famous people being casual in their own homes. So follow the link to see more of Abigal Aherns’ enticing home…
Happy day everyone:)

These lounge chairs My and Roo call for major relaxing if you ask me and would look fantastic in any room with a chill out factor. Ulla Koskinen has designed these chairs for Woodnotes in Finland and is upholstered in 70% paper yarn and 30% cotton. Finds in many colours as well. Super cool.

The magical thing about a feature wall is that we can dare to be wild. Wallpaper is a fantastic way of bringing in a bit of colour into a gloomy drab room, as we all know. It adds mood, creates an unexpectedness to a room and what better excuse to play! Now don’t get me wrong here –one can play with colours for a wow effect but why not play with a tone-in-tone effect as well, using a shiny and matte pattern on a paper. Stunning! It could be just that element the room needs. Now meanwhile I’m on the subject of wallpaper I tumbled across this site that makes the most amazing funky wallpapers. Highly recommend you read about how Flavor Paper started. Even Lenny Kravitz has designed for them so read on…

Decorating with colour doesn’t have to so scary if you keep a neutral backdrop. I know many people would love to have more colour in their living spaces but get a bit jittery with the thought of mixing and matching the colours! But remember opposites! Backdrop neutral and rest of the room jeweled up with colour, as you can see in the picture above from this apartment in Stockholm. Use a complementary scheme of colours and then throw in some patterns and wham you’ve got impact! What do you think, are you a colour person or not?
Have a great day:-)

…this popped up on my screen…the most breathtaking home I have seen for a long time, Waikopua House is located on Waiheke Island off the coast of New Zealand. The outside living area, the combination of stone, wood and the nature, the simpleness to all the details inside screams a well thought through home…okay now I’m feeling homesick…take me home…please!
You can read and see many many more delicious pictures from inside the house at Freshome. Thanks to Freshome for a spectacular insight to a stunning home.
Happy weekend everyone:-)
