Perfectionism sucks.

I dig this picture today. It’s all in the way you put everything together that sets the mood in a room. It’s unexpected, unpretentious and coincidental. Let the interior you live in show what type of person YOU ARE and not somebody else. Forget the perfect room go for a room bursting with personality that tells me all about you. Loving it!

Happy day everyone.

An eye for detail

By Colours, Furniture, Interior styles, Livingroom No Comments

I find myself very fascinated with this living room below and had to share it with you.  There are just so many interesting details to this room I just don’t know where to begin! The lemon walls with the beige silky curtains. The pictures hung tightly over the top of the windows. The chunky wood base furniture with the classical reading chairs in the back ground. Check the Scandinavian pendel lamp-shade and the brassy French metal floor lamp in the foreground.  Lemon, gold, beige and black. What a mix! And I love the linen coloured floss rug on the polished concrete floor.  Here lives somebody with an eye for detail.

Moody black

Awesome…now I know there are a lot of people out there who would just die thinking of painting their walls black but it just has this magical and amazing effect on a room. A lot of interior designers would totally disagree with me but I think it can make a room bigger widening the space not making it smaller, with thought for combining the ceiling and walls in together.  It’s an incredibly bold colour oozing with self-confidence.

What do you think?

Deep and moody…

By Colours, Furniture, Interior styles, Livingroom No Comments

….haven’t had many dark and moody pictures for a while now. I love the dark green walls with yellow and mustard as contrasting colours in this picture below. The glossy picture on the matt wall highlights the picture perfectly with the rest of the room. It’s a very balanced interior which brings the picture and the furnishings together. Very cool!

‘Christmas Free’

By Colours, Furniture, Interior styles No Comments

With all the hustle and bustle and commotion and stress connected to Christmas I have made a decision to go ‘Christmas Free’ from all festive pictures.  Now you might say BORING with a yawn but honestly the only reason I don’t like Christmas is because of all the stress that it involves. So I say ‘CHILL OUT’ people, take it easy, enjoy every day as it is. Love and re-use. Love what you have and NOT what you don’t have! And today I’m loving this eclectic mix picture…so enjoy:)

Neon rules

By Colours No Comments

Well it’s always nice to be surprised from time to time and this colour used in a home just blows me away. Neon pink and splashes of bright orange! The neutral backgrounds and the magical use of light to reflect the strong noen colour on the walls, it’s a brilliant way of creating an enchanting atmosphere in a home.  See how the colour just vibrates on the walls. Let me say this is really refreshing to see how well it works in this home to Silke Neumann in Germany. You can see more pictures of her apartment from the amazing team at Freundevonfreuden.  My new favourite. Enjoy!

Make it a good day everyone:)
